- Snoop Dogg appears to be in law enforcement's crosshairs lately. On Oct. 26, he was arrested by Burbank/Glendale/ Pasadena Airport Authority Police Department at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank , CA .

Parked in a passenger loading zone and unloading zone, Cordozar Calvin Broadus (a.k.a Snoop Dogg) was "contacted for a vehicle code violation," according to a Burbank Police Department press release. "An investigation revealed Calvin Broadus to be in possession of marijuana and a firearm."

It's unclear why Snoop Dogg's vehicle was searched (a pungent smell emanating from the vehicle perhaps) and how much marijuana was confiscated. "We don't go into specific details," Sgt. Kevin Grandalski stated. "They have to have a reason for the search. Details will be provided at the trial."

Snoop Dogg posted $35,000 bail and was swiftly released. He will be arraigned on Dec. 12.

Bob Hope Airport public relations director Victor Gill added: "Possessing a firearm is a felony. I don't know about the marijuana. A search ensued. I can only confirm the facts."

"There was no basis for this arrest," Snoop Dogg's attorney Donald Etra stated. "We believe that once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed."

On Sept. 27, while boarding a plane at the nearby John Wayne Airport , police confiscated a 21-inch collapsible baton from Snoop Dogg's bags. "He told us he was going to use it for an upcoming rap video," Airport spokesman Jim Amormino said. Snoop Doog has since been charged with possessing a deadly weapon.

In 2000, he told High Times : "If the government legalized weed, the crime rate would go down. People would just wanna chill."

Oct 2005 - Snoop Dogg was in Amsterdam this week, and is now the proud owner of a Hemp Hoodlamb.

The Hoodlamb is a beautiful, warm winter coat made with hemp. The coat is made with 55% hemp and the soft, fuzzy lining is made with 20%.hemp. Hoodlamb has all-kinds of 'special' features, such as a I-pod pocket and a secret pocket.

For the occasion, the Dutch company that makes Hoodlambs, customized snoop's coat with bullet-proof parts. Sources at Hoodlamb told FriendsofCannabis.com that Snoop was very happy with it.

- Snoop to participate in Oxford University debate on marijuana:

US rapper Snoop Dogg is set to give a talk at Oxford University Students Union, following in the footsteps of Michael Jackson.

The controversial Hip Hop performer will give a speech about drugs to students following the ‘King Of Pop’ who gave a speech about family and love reports Chartsingles.net.

Snoop Dogg will become an unlikely lecturer at Britain's prestigious Oxford University, where he will chair a one-off debate about smoking marijuana. Snoop has been asked to talk to students at the historic institution, because his lyrics demonstrate a wealth of knowledge about the positive and negative effects of drugs.

An insider at the University said: "Students will be queuing to see Snoop - it's amazing that he has agreed to appear. He is bound to be controversial but he's a hugely intelligent man known for his honesty.

He is also considering discussing his views on videogames at his hour-long lecture to be held later this year, reports British newspaper THE SUN. An insider says, "It's amazing Snoop has agreed to appear. He is bound to be controversial but he's a hugely intelligent man known for his honesty.

"He won't be telling everyone to get stoned. He'll open a debate on the effects of drugs, including the bad side."

- Rapper Snoop Dogg refuses to go on stage unless he is provided with strong marijuana, according to reports of his backstage rider.

The Hip Hop celebrity allegedly ensures venues he performs at supply him with the finest cannabis on offer - unless he is dubious about the area's quality control.

Before performing in Park City, Utah, on Monday (24JAN05), "There were large amounts of pot flown in for Snoop and his friends because they didn't trust the quality of bud in Utah" - according to gossip site Pagesix.com.

Other items listed on Snoop's contract rider include a Play Station, Moet champagne, a case of Corona beer, doughnuts and cashew nuts.

- Snoop Dogg and reality-TV star Paris Hilton are endorsing a new pot-flavored candy that is stirring up controversy and generating criticism among New York City politicians.

Presently found in 43 stores across the Big Apple. Hemp-rooted lollypops and gumdrops promise that "Every lick is like taking a hit." It's quickly becoming top choice for local costumers with the munchies, while drawing criticism from politicians who feel the candy promotes drug use to the youth.

"How could we go into the market and create a product for children that encourages them to taste marijuana?" Councilwoman Margarita Lopez (D-Manhattan) exclaimed on WPIX-Channel 11, "What is the message? 'Use drugs', that is okay?"

While the pot sweets do not contain THC, the ingredient that intoxicates marijuana users, the candy comes in "nickel bags" and "20 sacks" like marijuana. It also provides flavors themed after its countless nicknames including "Chronic" and "Sticky Icky Skunk Buds.

Unlike the candy's many protesters, Chronic Candy Founder Antonio Montana asserts that the sweets were never intended for kids.

"Give me a list of what we can do to keep these things out of kids' hands, and I'll do it," Montana, 36, who began importing the candies from Switzerland four years ago, told Daily News. "I don't think kids should be eating them. It's an adult thing."

Montana also suggested that retailers put an 18-and-older-only tag on the treats, but added that it's to their discretion.

Queens store owner, David Abramowitz has already enforced an 18-and-older policy and shared that he isn't shocked by the controversy surrounding the candy.

"Lopez is making all this noise. Look, I'm not out to corrupt kids," Abramowitz, 62, claimed to Daily News. "It's just for kicks."

Nov 2001, Charles Mudede - Snoop Dogg is a ghetto Martha Stewart. His ultimate commodity is a way of life. Everything he sells and endorses (the Blunt Wrap tobacco tubes for smoking Buddha, the K-Nine clothing for the pimps, playas, and ho's, the "Freak Line" phone sex service, the rap music, the films, and so on) designates, validates, and delineates a specific mode of urban existence.

He makes it easier to be ghetto, in the way Martha Stewart makes it easier to be bourgeois. With Snoop Dogg, you don't have to lift a finger; all one has to do is buy whatever he endorses or produces and they will be 100 percent "real." And "keeping it real" is as valuable to Snoop Dogg as claiming "it's a good thing" is to Martha Stewart.
