18 May 2013 - Last January actor Patrick Dempsey, known for his role in the popular serie Grey's Anatomy, bought the Seattle-based Tully's Coffee chain. It seems that Mr Dempsey  wants to serve more than coffee at his Tully's shops.

In an interview with Bon Appetit he explained the possible business plan:  "Coffee is good for your mind, It's basically a legalized drug. The next step is selling marijuana, of course. There's a business model there. You could present it in a beautiful, elegant way: a Michelin-starred coffee shop where you can get marijuana."

But before expanding his business the father of three wants to work at his coffeeshops : "Neighborhood coffee shops are an important part of people's lives—it's a part of your everyday ritual. I want to become a certified barista and work in the stores." he said.

16 May 2013 - Tommy Chong who was diagnosed with stage one prostate cancer last June told CelebStoner he has beaten his cancer thanks in large part to a hash oil treatment he received from a Canadian doctor.

On his CelebStoner blog Mr Chong tells about the Canadian Dr. McKinnon in Victoria, BC who made him change his diet and put him on supplements. He also treated the condition with hemp oil (hash oil). After  the diet, the supplements and the hash oil, plus a session with a world-renowned healer,  the Grammy Award-winning comedian says he’s cured of cancer and he feels the best he felt in years.

Next to the beneficial aspects of Marijuana Tommy Chong also thinks it could give a great boost to the U.S. economy.  In a recent interview with CBS News, Chong talked about how legalizing marijuana could solve the country's fiscal problems.

"Look at the situation we're in now. Sequesters. Cuts. Everything cut across the board. Now, the government is tapped into the biggest cash crop in the world," Chong said. "There's little manufacturing cost. You don't have to do anything except watch it grow and get a couple of hippies to cut it and then put it in a bag."

Tommy Chong isn't the only one who sees marijuana as a solution for America's budget problems. Carl Davis, senior analyst at the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy recently told The Huffington Post that legalization may affect supply and demand in unknown ways, but increased revenue for the government is virtually guaranteed.

25 April 2013 - Last night, the swedish police raided Justin Bieber's tour bus and found marijuana. The 19-year-old's coach was stopped by law enforcement officers outside the Ericsson Globe venue in Stockholm.

Authorities were originally alerted to the bus after detecting a ''strong smell'' of weed coming from it while controlling the crowd that had gathered outside Justin's hotel.

According to the Aftonbladet newspaper, police allegedly found a ''small amount'' of what appeared to be cannabis on board, as well as a stun gun, which requires a permit.  No one will be charged because they have no idea who was in possession of the pot since the bus was empty when raided.

21 April 2013 - Yesterday Snoop Lion's 420 Festival was shut down by the police. The giant smoke out took place in a Hollywood Hills mansion and was meant to celebrate cannabis. The celebration  started at 11 a.m. but was put to an end after multiple neighbours around the mansion complained about the noise levels and consequent parking dilemmas.

Snoop arrived just as the cops were clearing out the party and was "incredibly cooperative," according to TMZ. The great event, in honor of the unofficial national marijuana toking day, was expected to go all night.

The 41-year-old Ashtrays and Heartbreaks rapper had already started his celebration much earlier, tweeting around midnight: 'happyholidays #snoop420.' Tickets for the Annual Snoop Lion 420 Festival on Eventbrite.com ranged in price from $150 to $1,500 depending on the partygoer's status.
