W/Z - Neil Young

neil_young_-_per_ole_hagen8 October 2012 - Neil Young, the legendary American singer/songwriter gave up alcohol and marijuana last year, and was at first unsure as to whether or not he would be up to his craft without his regular muses.

When asked by The Guardian about writing out from under the influence he said:

"I was never really worried about it, other than I was curious about it, in a day-to-day way. I'd go, 'Wow, I've not written a song in a long time. This is very different.' I didn't know at the time what was going to happen so I was discovering it, and now I've discovered that it doesn't matter."

Ironically, Young's next album could end up his most mind-altering. He not-so-subtly named Psychedelic Pill features some of his longest jams, including a 28-minute track called Driftin' Back.
