5 Dec 2011 - Former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Igor Olshansky has been arrested on a marijuana possession charge at his Fort Lauderdale condo on Thursday afternoon. The Broward Sheriff's Office, participating in a multi-agency drug operation, says the 29-year-old Olshansky was charged after he was seen rolling a marijuana cigarette on his kitchen table.
Detectives were at Point of Americas conducting a separate investigation that resulted in the arrest of Olshansky's friend, David Alan Martin (32), on a marijuana possession charge, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Dani Moschella. But at some point, detectives also saw Olshansky with marijuana and arrested him, too, Moschella said.
A Ukraine native, Olshansky was released this week by the Dolphins. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman has also played for the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers over eight NFL seasons.
It wasn't clear if Olshansky had hired a lawyer.
