12 March 2013 - During a show in Ghana Chris Brown has angered the locals after defying local laws. The RnB singer was smoking weed on stage and then he allegedly encouraged people to take up arms for a revolution.

The marijuana smoking performance caused a massive revolt in the country and some Ghanaian citizens are calling for the hip-hop star to be returned to the country to face charges. Ghana has strict laws against smoking cannabis in public and the encouraging of a revolution isn't appreciated either. 

 “He promoted an illegality,” said Ghanaian youth activist Jonathan Osei-Owusu.  If the 24 year old popstar ever dicides to return to Ghana Jonathan Osei-Owusu might make it very difficult for him.

The executive director of Perfector of Sentiments [POS], a youth advocacy organization is leading the campaign to have Chris Brown stand trial. The charges would be promoting the public smoking of marijuana to a stadium full of young people and to supposedly encourage people to take up arms. Chris Brown will probably not be deported to Ghana but if he returns it will not be a warm welcome.

23 February 2013 - Last tuesday, a photo of what appears to be Miley Cyrus covered in smoke accompanied by the caption "High as f**k" was posted by a user called "Mileyxxcyrus" on photo-sharing website Instagram. The image which is black and white, shows  a woman with very short platinum blonde hair covered in a thick cloud of smoke puffing on what appears to be a joint.

A tattoo of an equal sign similar to that which Miley has on her ring finger can be seen in the image. But the 20 year old singer and actress has denied she posted the photo, writing on Twitter: 'I don't have an Instagram.' Earlier she responded to the picture going viral by tweeting  'Why is everybody trippin. My timeline is blowing up. Everything's all good in my life just in a creative space right now.'

Back in 2010, a video was leaked in which Miley was seen inhaling from a bong at her 18th birthday party. A representative for the former Hannah Montana star later claimed that she was smoking the herb salvia.  At her 19th birthday party later that year she poked fun at the scandal when her friends presented her with a Bob Marley cake, saying:
'You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake,'

16 February 2013 - Thursday evening Grammy-nominated rapper 2 Chainz was arrested on drug charges.  The rapper was on his way to perform at the University of Maryland when the Maryland State Police stopped his van of  for speeding. Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and therfore searched the van. They found a backpack, which 2 Chainz claimed possesion off, with a grinder and trace amounts of cannabis. 

2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps was cited for having drug paraphernalia and marijuana and was released. The citation carries up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.

After the incident the 35 year old rapper, tweeted a photo of himself standing with two unidentified police officers. "Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh," he wrote, using the abbreviation for shaking my head. Adding, "We to jail for a grinder??? REALLY???" His website later tweeted a photo from the stage and wrote the "show must go on."

Maryland State Police could not confirm the authenticity of the photograph but is investigating.

15 February 2013 - Alan Beiler, actor in Discovery Channel’s show Amish Mafia, was arrested and  faces 34 counts in a incident last summer, when troopers were led on a high speed pursuit. The trooper pursuing Beiler was injured when he crashed into a highway  barrier.

The counts against Beiler include a felony charge of fleeing and eluding, four misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Beiler also faces 24 summary offenses, including driving an unregistered vehicle and driving with a suspended license.

Born in Brooklyn, Beiler  moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania  in his youth. He and his mother were reportedly taken in by an Amish family who adopted Beiler at 9-years-old and raised him as one of their own when his mother returned to New York. In Amish Mafia Beiler is introduced to Discovery viewers as the Lebanon Levi character’s event coordinator who plans parties that supposedly earn Levi a lot of money.
