14 May 2007 - Actor David Faustino (Bud Bundy from Married With Children), has gotten him into a bit of trouble. Faustino will have to answer for his possession of marijuana. The 33-year-old actor was arrested in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on public drunkenness charges when he was found shouting and fighting with his estranged wife in the early hours of May 12th. According to E News, officers observed Faustino trying to climb out of the driver’s side window of a silver two-door car, which was stopped in the middle of the street. As he was taken in, police found cannabis on him.
April 2007 - In an interview with UK newspaper "The Guardian", actor Morgan Freeman explained that he had stopped using cocaine and other "hard drugs" but that he would "never give up on the ganja"
Morgan, age 65, has been nominated for three Academy Awards. He called marijuana "God's own weed" and explained how Moses' encounter with the "burning bush" was an early Biblical reference to the spiritual benefits of cannabis use. Sadly the reporter didn't explore Freeman's pot-based beliefs further, but did add that ganja was clearly "a subject close to his heart".
04 Oct 2005 - Singer backs down on Potty pop performer Dean Friedman has ditched plans to give away cannabis seeds to his fans at The Stables after facing a joint ban by the venue and local police. Self-confessed pot smoker Friedman was booked to play at the Wavendon concert theatre, founded by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine this month as part of his 25th anniversary UK tour.But then it was revealed that not only is the American hippy singer-songwriter sponsored by a firm that sells cannabis seeds but he promised to give away dozens of them to the first ten people to buy his new CD at the concert.He insisted the transaction was perfectly legal... "as long as it doesn't rain and the seeds don't get wet!" "Everything we are doing is perfectly legal. If it rains though and the seeds start to germinate...uh, we may have a problem," he told the Tuesday Citizen last week.
June 2005 - WASHINGTON - The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will sponsor a smoke-in to promote the group's campaign to legalize marijuana. The weekend event, called the Great American Pot Luck Festival, will be held at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, July 8-10. Sponsors include Grecian Formula, Cialis, Fixodent, Beano, Depends, and Correctol with Stool Softener. AARP's chief executive officer, William Novelli, held a press conference in the group's Washington, D.C., office yesterday to publicize the event. Wearing a T-shirt that read "We Smoke and We Vote," Novelli told reporters, "People who think the AARP is a haven for old windbags that sit around comparing HMOs or discussing their bowel movements are in for a surprise.
