3 July 2009 - Forty years later, Peter Fonda cracks up explaining why a grinning, glassy-eyed Jack Nicholson did an awesome job of acting high on pot in an infamous “Easy Rider” campfire scene. Simply put, that was no acting. And co-stars Fonda and Dennis Hopper also smoked real grass on-screen during their rambling campfire chats.

Nicholson, who earned his first Oscar nomination for the 1969 cult classic, plays a boozing ACLU lawyer who in the campfire scene is being introduced to marijuana by bikers Billy (Hopper) and Wyatt (Fonda). Things may have gotten convoluted because Hopper, who was also the film's director, decided to shoot his and Fonda's parts first while Nicholson sat nearby, off-camera.

1 July 2009 - "There has never been a greater cultural, media or political zeitgeist to re-legalize cannabis than right now", the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) says. "Indeed, even more so than the 1970s era of decriminalization". Indicative of such momentum, last Thursday U.S. Representatives Barney Frank (D-MA) and Ron Paul (R-TX) have re-introduced the cannabis decriminalization bill that NORML help to write and champion for introduction in the nations 111th Congress.

26 June 2009 - On the latest episode of Rev. Run Simmons reality show "Run´s House" the family discussed  last month´s pot arrest of older sun Jojo.

In a conversation with his older brother Russell, Rev. Run says he would like his son never to smoke weed again. The rapper-turned-reverend gets a reality check when he is reminded of his own past cannabis-smoking habits. Russel tells the Run-D.M.C. founder he used to be a "chimney", saying "You smoked-up the whole house!".

24 June 2009 - Shia LaBeouf was spotted yesterday at Los Angeles international airport wearing a T-shirt with the words "Everybody must get stoned" written on the back. 

Maybe this is his way to support Transformers co-star Megan Fox after her comments on marijuana legalisation had conjured up a little cannabis controversy with the London press last week.

22 June 2009 - Korean Actress Kim Bu-seon's calls on national Korean TV for marijuana use to be legalized are causing a public uproar.

In a pre-recorded interview on MBC's live morning show on Friday, the 46-year-old, who has advocated the legalization of the drug said;

"Marijuana is not a narcotic; it is technically an Oriental herbal medicine which Koreans have used for 5,000 years.''
